Are you looking for an electric bike subsidy to make it easier to get your next e-bike? In 2025, there are some very attractive regional and local incentives, but not all of them are still active or applicable to every model. In this guide, you will find essential, up-to-date and verified information so that you can make the most of the limited funds before they run out.

Request free information about subsidies available in your region

    Key points

    • Subsidies available: In 2025, several autonomous communities in Spain are offering financial assistance for the purchase of electric bikes, with amounts ranging from £250 to £700, depending on the region and the applicant's circumstances.
    • Notable programmes: The Plan Mueve Madrid 2025 and the EBici Programme in Galicia are the most established, with subsidies of up to £600 and £700, respectively.
    • Limitations: Not all regions have active programmes, and information on some regions, such as the Basque Country and the Valencian Community, has not been confirmed for 2025.
    • Limited opportunity: Funds for these grants are usually limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is crucial to act quickly.
    • Compatibility: Legend eBikes comply with the technical requirements for most subsidy programmes.

    Why choose an electric bike?

Buying an electric bike in 2025 not only allows you to save money thanks to subsidies, but also contributes to a more sustainable lifestyle. These bikes reduce CO₂ emissions, facilitate urban mobility and promote health by combining pedalling with electric assistance. With programmes such as the Mueve Madrid 2025 Plan, you can cover up to 50% of the cost of your bike, making the investment more affordable.

    Where are the subsidies available?

Subsidies vary depending on the autonomous community. Madrid and Galicia have active programmes, while in regions such as Navarre, Andalusia and the Valencian Community there is no confirmed information for 2025. At the national level, a €40 million plan has been announced, but the details are not yet clear. It is advisable to check the official sources for each region to confirm availability.

How to take advantage of this aid?

To benefit, you must meet requirements such as being of legal age, being registered in the corresponding community and purchasing a bicycle that meets technical specifications (motor up to 250W and maximum speed of 25 km/h). The application usually requires a purchase invoice, ID and proof of residence, and is submitted online or at designated offices. As funds are limited, we recommend that you act quickly.

Why is there aid for electric bicycles in Spain?

    Sustainable mobility

Reducing emissions and traffic jams has become a priority. A pedal-assisted bicycle replaces car journeys and saves CO₂ without requiring much physical effort from the user.

    European funds and ecological transition

The Next Generation EU funds and the Recovery and Resilience Facility finance part of the regional programmes that promote electric mobility and cycling infrastructure.

    State and municipal decarbonisation plans

At the local level, Low Emission Zones and plans such as Madrid 360 promote direct incentives (vouchers or subsidies) to accelerate the modal shift towards cycling.p>

In summary, subsidies for electric bicycles in Spain are a strategic response to the environmental and mobility challenges facing modern cities, promoting a more sustainable and healthier future.

Types of subsidies for electric bicycles in 2025

    State aid (e.g. MOVES III)

In the past, programmes such as the MOVES III Plan have encouraged the purchase of electric vehicles, including subsidies for electric bikes in some of its versions. However, at present, and after our checks, the MOVES III Plan does not provide direct subsidies for the purchase of electric bikes. It is crucial to stay informed about the latest updates to state plans, as conditions may change. If any electric bike purchase subsidies are announced at the state level in the future, we will be here to let you know.

    Regional and local subsidies

In addition to state initiatives, many autonomous communities and local councils have launched their own electric bike subsidy programmes. These electric bike subsidies aim to meet the specific needs of each region and city, promoting more sustainable mobility at the local level. It is essential to check the official websites of your autonomous community and local council to find out about current subsidies, requirements and deadlines. These subsidies are often combined and offer a significant opportunity to reduce the cost of your eBike.

    Regional subsidies by autonomous community

Below is a summary of the most notable electric bike subsidies by autonomous community. Please note that the availability of funds and deadlines may vary, so we always recommend checking the information with official sources before taking any action. Remember that our Legend eBikes are compatible with most of these subsidies. p>
